Dr. Fabio Castro is a plastic surgeon with more than 40 years of experience in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Recognized as a pioneer in his field, he is admired for his surgical artistry, personalized approach, and transformative results.
He began his medical education at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, earning his degree in general surgery, then specialized in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Instituto Jalisciense de Cirugía Plástica Dr. José Guerrero Santos in Guadalajara, Mexico — one of the most respected centers in Latin America. He went on to complete advanced studies in microsurgery at the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS).
Driven by a passion for teaching, he served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) for 18 years, and practiced in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz, Mexico. Dr. Castro is known as one of the first surgeons to perform the Brazilian Butt Lift in Miami — his work referenced by Dr. Constantino Mendieta in The Art of Gluteal Sculpting.
